At twelve years old, Chucklan fled the persecution of the Cultural revolution in China. When Chucklan returned to Trinidad, she found herself in Point-a-Pierre, the site of many oil refineries. Her father had remarried for the third time.
In this clip, Chucklan describes the long journey by boat from China, and the first moments of returning to a home she could not remember.
