Born in 1921

Marcia was born in Tobago, she is one of nine children.

Her family was Moravian. Her father was a headmaster in Tobago.

When they decided that the children would have better access to education in Trinidad, the mother moved with the nine children and left the father in Tobago. Marcia was 10 years old.  The father would visit frequently, but continued his work as a headmaster in Tobago.

Marcia went on to become a civil servant, working as a librarian all her life.

Her husband was also in the civil service. Her brothers and sisters would go on to become doctors and lawyers. She had two daughters.
