Born in 1925
Silla was born in the poor, rural area called Poole in Trinidad. She moved out of her father's house at 16 years old and went to live with her Grandmother Sasa and her Aunt Cece.
Cece and Silla would become lifelong friends.
Hers is the story of the mix of cultures and traditions that are so characteristic of Trinidad and Tobago. And she gives a lively telling of what life in 1930s colonial Trinidad was like.
