"They put us all in one house... in a dark room, 2x2... 3x3..."

When the Chinese Red Guard came to their family's door in China, the father fled leaving Chucklan and her sister behind. He would send money for Chucklan to return to Trinidad, but her sister had to be left behind. Chucklan would finally be able to earn enough money in Trinidad to bring her back as well, thirty years later.
